Smokkelaar

Smokkelaar was a limited beer from Brouwerij Vieille Villers, introduced around August 1992 in connection with the opening of the Belgian-Dutch border. Its label depicted a customs office and a car carrying beer, making the beer a distinctive tribute to the region’s smuggling heritage; surviving catalogue records list it at 8.0% ABV.
